I am Thilina Buddhika, a Ph.D student at Department of Computer Science at Colorado State University since Fall, 2013. My primary research interests are distributed systems and large scale data processing in general. I work as a research assistant in the Distributed Systems Group under the supervision of Dr. Shrideep Pallickara since Spring, 2015.
I have over three years of industry experience working with service oriented architectures, web services related technologies, enterprise application integration, and SOA security. I am a committer and a project management committee member for Apache Axis2, a popular open source SOAP engine.
I earned my bachelors degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 2009. I received my M.S. degree in Computer Science from Colorado State University in 2015.
My research is focused on large scale data processing in general. I have been working on achieving high performance and scalability in stream processing systems, data sketches for streaming data, efficient processing and storage of sensor data in IoT settings, and leveraging Fog computing for large scale data analytics.
